New Junior Programme

There’s been plenty of work happening here at the Avantidrome to provide a new Junior Programme to cater for all levels of Junior rider – from first timers to experienced riders who have competed at National level.

Thanks to the generous support of Grassroots Trust, we now have have a dedicated Youth Programme Coach to workalongside our kids and help them get the most out of their cycling experience. If you have any questions on our new programme or would like more information about what we are doing please contact Colin Dixon at and he will give you the advice you need.

Our new Junior Programme will start in term 2, week beginning 30th April, and will run every week during term time. All the information you need about the programme can be found on the Avantidrome website here.

We are also offering School Holiday sessions again during the break. Take a look at what these sessions entail here and make sure you book as they are filling up fast. Either book online, or phone reception on .

Friday Night Schools Racing continues to be popular with an average of nearly 60 riders hitting the boards every week. As term 1 draws to a close make sure you book in advance for term 2 to save yourself money. Please note that from term 2 we will be charging extra for riders who wish to hire one of our bikes to race. Please check the website for more details.

Finally, congratulations to everyone who competed at the first ever Cycling New Zealand Schools National Track Cycling Championships last month. There were some amazing results from our regular riders with many of our kids taking out the top honours. Also, congratulations to Cambridge High School who won the inaugural Top School Shield. 44 Schools were represented at this event which is amazing. Full results can be found here.
