Ever wondered why teams that sweat together work best together?
Maybe it’s the shared experience of goal setting, time spent together training outside the office, the joint celebration of sweet success or simply supporting each other to rock up on race day. The BNZ Corporate Challenge is the perfect team challenge to do just that.
No previous track cycling experience is required as you’ll be provided with a coach, bikes, helmets and a weekly training session to learn the ropes and prepare for race day against other corporate teams.
It’s a great way to build workplace morale, promote teamwork and push individual boundaries in a fun and supportive environment.
The 2019 edition of the BNZ Corporate Challenge will take place earlier in the year than in the past couple of years, with training throughout May & June leading up to race day on 6 July. We also see some changes to the format with a return to all teams racing on restricted gears and using standard equipment so it’s an even playing field for riders of all abilities.
There’s the popular Italian Pursuit category for new riders and the Cambridge Pursuit category for experienced riders.

2019 Series Dates:
Do I need to have ridden on the Avantidrome track before?
No! You don’t need any previous riding experience on a velodrome. All riders will be coached as a team through the seven week training block before taking part in any racing. Coaching, as well as Avantidrome bikes and helmets are all included in the entry fee and riders are encouraged to make use of them.
Can I use my own track bike?
Yes! If you have your own track bike, you are welcome to use it for training and race day however the bike must have standard spoke wheels (no disc or 5 spoke wheels) and gearing no bigger than 7.0 metres. This ensures an even playing field for all participants.
When can I train?
Team training will start from Saturday 18th May and run for seven weeks. Teams will be allocated one training session a week, however teams can also book private track time (at additional cost) if they feel that their team requires more practice before the big event. Teams can request preferred training times when filling out the entry forms below.
